On 11 March 2026, our working lunch “AI in the Room” brought together diplomats, industry leaders and AI practitioners to address a question many organisations are currently facing: What does it really take to move AI from strategy to (best) practice?
This guiding question shaped our lunch session yesterday under the headline "AI in the Room", where diplomats, industry leaders and AI practitioners joined us for an open exchange on how organisations are turning AI ambition into real implementation.
Together with Christile Druhle (Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau), Annika Bolten-Drutschmann (German Consulate General Hong Kong), and Pascaline Hayoun (Saint-Gobain Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan), we explored how organisations approach AI adoption in their day to day work – and what it takes to achieve meaningful results. Moderated by our AI Committee Co-Chairs Karena Belin (WHub) and Michael Keppe (Pergamon Labs Limited), the dialogue highlighted the crucial need for proactive leadership on AI. Key aspects included providing confidence and clarity across teams, identifying relevant use cases, and investing in building the right skills among staff to successfully integrate AI into complex organisations and workflows.
The event was organised in partnership with the French Foreign Trade Advisors, supported by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and generously hosted by our member Acclime. A big thank you to all speakers, partners, and participants for making this such an insightful and engaging exchange.
