AI Ready: Practical Guide From Blueprint to Action

AI adoption is no longer a question of if, but how. In a member-exclusive online session, the German Chamber of Commerce in China · South & Southwest, together with the German Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, brought members together to explore how to move from AI ambition to practical implementation.

The session featured insights from Karena Belin and Michael Keppe, who introduced the AI Business Transformation Blueprint, a practical framework developed by members, for members.

Structured around seven key pillars, the Blueprint is designed as a hands-on self-assessment tool to help companies:

• Evaluate their AI readiness
• Identify relevant and realistic use cases
• Define clear priorities and implementation pathways
• Measure impact and ROI

Moving beyond theory, the discussion addressed a shared challenge among companies today: while AI adoption is inevitable, determining the right direction, pace, and focus remains complex. The session highlighted how AI is increasingly enhancing productivity and decision-making, and why a structured approach is essential to move forward with confidence.

Building on the Blueprint, members were introduced to the HKU AI Readiness Assessment, developed in collaboration with the HKU Centre for AI, Management and Organization. This research-backed tool enables organisations to benchmark their capabilities, identify gaps, and translate insights into a clear, actionable roadmap.
