Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept. It is already shaping how companies operate across industries. On 14 May 2026, business professionals gathered for a joint chamber panel discussion to explore how AI is being implemented in practice, moving beyond theory to real-world application.
Organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong in collaboration with the European Chamber of Commerce and the German Chamber of Commerce, the session brought together experts from strategy, corporate innovation, implementation, and legal fields. The discussion offered a comprehensive look at how organisations are navigating the transition from AI ambition to tangible business outcomes.
The panel featured:
- José de la Puente, Head of Asia Business Process Engineering, BBVA
- Sang Joon Ahn, Head of Data & AI APAC, Sia Partners
- Trevor Ho, Founder, Cereb Intelligence
- Adrián Cuevas, Senior Legal Counsel, Net Craman
- Moderated by Beatriz Turiel, Head of CIB Strategy Asia, BBVA
Throughout the session, speakers shared practical insights into how companies are approaching AI internally from identifying and prioritising use cases to scaling successful pilots into full deployment. The discussion also shed light on common challenges, including organisational readiness, resource allocation, and the complexities of governance and risk management.
A key takeaway was that while AI adoption is accelerating, success depends on clear strategic alignment, realistic expectations, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Panellists also highlighted that failures often stem not from the technology itself, but from gaps in execution, change management, and data readiness.
The event provided valuable, experience-driven perspectives for businesses at different stages of their AI journey, while offering an opportunity to connect with the wider community over a networking lunch.
