The conference opened with the AHK Innovation Awards, an exciting pitching competition featuring start-ups from the Greater China region across four categories: Future Mobility, Sustainability & Green Manufacturing, AI & Digital Economy, and Future Innovation. Many congratulations to the winning start-ups Apodibot Medical, Edgenesis, HyperPark Ltd., and Golytec Automation, and a special shout-out to Braillic from Hong Kong for winning second place!
The afternoon programme of the main conference day was dedicated to the major business trends of our time, including a Sub-Forum on Artificial Intelligence. In a lively session, our Delegate Hannes Farlock together with hashtag#GCCHK Board Members Karena Belin (WHub, AngelHub) and Michael Keppe (Pergamon Labs), as well as Julie Zhuo Han (Mech-Mind Robotics) and Dr. Xiaohan Li (Semi Eye) exchanged views on the transformative potential of AI technology for industries, including both opportunities as well as practical challenges. Michael then delivered an entertaining showcase on how to create your own AI bot in 20 minutes.
At the Sustainable Markets Sub-Forum, GCC President Johannes Hack (DZ BANK AG) gave a keynote speech on the present and future of sustainable finance. In his presentation, he drew a comprehensive overview of the current ESG landscape and put an emphasis on the important role of Hong Kong in harmonising ESG investment standards and taxonomies.
The X-Days wrapped up on Friday with exclusive site visits to some of the leading industry players in the dynamic Beijing area.
Many thanks to our participants from Hong Kong for joining and, of course, special thanks and kudos to our dear colleagues at AHK Greater China for the flawless organisation of this important conference. We gained a lot of insights and already look forward to the X-Days 2025!
