Farewell Reception of Hannes Farlock
Last week was all about farewells and new beginnings: a warm goodbye to Hannes Farlock and an equally warm welcome to his successor, Lea Etsebeth. On Thursday night, more than 100 guests joined us at the brand-new premises of the German Business School to celebrate Hannes’s impactful time in Hong Kong and look forward to what lies ahead.
We would like to give our thanks to Benjamin Leipold, Managing Director AHK Network at DIHK, to Alexander Steinkuhl and the Board of the German Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, to our colleagues from the region Oliver Oehms and Eva Langerbeck, and to all our partners and friends who joined us on this special occasion. A big thank you also goes to Alexander Wassermann and the wonderful team from The Mira Hong Kong for their outstanding support in making the evening truly memorable.
Visit from DIHK
On Friday, we welcomed Benjamin Leipold and Lea Etsebeth to our office for a townhall session with all our colleagues. In the afternoon, we were then joined by Dr. Volker Treier, Chief Executive of Foreign Trade and Member of the Executive Board at DIHK, for an engaging team lunch and a roundtable exchange with Annika Bolten-Drutschmann, German Consul General, and the Board of GCC. The visit was a great opportunity to connect, gain the latest insights from Germany and Hong Kong, and align on shared goals.
Many thanks to everyone for two inspiring days – here’s to new beginnings, a strong German business community, and exciting times ahead.
