The Federal Republic’s chambers of industry and commerce have always been public entities. They have a democratic structure and are free from government influence. All commercial and industrial firms, large or small, from all branches of the economy are required by law to be members of their local chamber. The chamber of industry and commerce of the Palatinate has got more than 70,000 members, ranging from very small firms to large multinationals. Its foreign trade department advises companies in all matters of international trade, provides assistance in finding the right business partners all over the world and organises delegation trips, participation on trade fairs and information events and seminars.
