The AHK World Conference 2025 brought together delegates from 93 German Chambers Abroad (AHKs), 79 Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Germany (IHKs), and key partner organisations at the DIHK in Berlin. The event served as a vital platform for exchange on global trade, innovation, and future cooperation within a network representing 4 million German companies worldwide.
Key discussions centred around geopolitical shifts, AI integration, and the future role of German foreign trade, with workshops, panel sessions, and networking formats promoting dialogue and collaboration.
Among the programme highlights was a pitch competition on AI best practices within the network, where the GIC/GCC team was awarded for introducing the AI Belt System—a practical tool showcasing how AI can support chamber operations. Our team was also awarded for initiating an internal AI community, recognising our efforts to promote knowledge exchange within the AHK network. The conference also honoured partner institutions and German Schools Abroad, with Hong Kong’s Dual System Professional Training programme receiving an Excellence Award—a strong signal of the programme’s continued relevance and impact.
Last, but not least, the Board Members’ Day reaffirmed the importance of voluntary engagement across the network. GCC was well-represented by four board members who took the opportunity to exchange with DIHK leadership and fellow board members from around the world. Back from Berlin, we are energised and committed to further advancing the interests of German business in Hong Kong and beyond.
