The GCC Insight Tour to Qianhai offered participants a hands-on look into one of China’s most dynamic innovation hubs. Organised by the German Chamber of Commerce in South & Southwest China and us, the half-day programme brought members closer to Shenzhen’s rapidly evolving AI and eVTOL ecosystem.
The tour began with a cross-border journey from Hong Kong to Shekou, followed by a joint lunch before continuing to Qianhai—widely recognised as a gateway for innovation and international collaboration.
The programme opened with a visit to the Qianhai Technology Exhibition Hall, offering a comprehensive overview of the region’s development and its role in driving high-tech industries.
This was followed by two company visits, where participants not only observed but actively experienced emerging technologies first-hand:
- RobotAnno: where participants interacted with intelligent AI-driven robotics solutions including a robot capable of creating detailed, real-life images in milk foam, showcasing the precision and creativity of applied AI.
- YIVTOLL: presenting ultralight electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology, including a human-sized model that illustrated the tangible progress being made toward future urban air mobility.
These hands-on elements provided a deeper understanding of how innovation in Shenzhen moves quickly from concept to real-world application.
The day concluded with a networking dinner in Shekou, where participants connected with members from South and Southwest China in a relaxed al fresco setting, fostering exchange across regions and industries.
