Über

The Lufthansa Group focuses on the core competencies of its five business areas: Passenger Airline Group, Logistics, MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul), Catering and IT Services. The Group attaches overriding importance to quality and innovation, safety and reliability. At Lufthansa Group, great importance is placed on constantly developing new technologies in order to provide the highest standard of comfort and service for our customers in Hong Kong, South China and Macau. Furthermore, the Group has announced to invest further in new technology, efficiency and passenger comfort as a continuation of the ongoing fleet modernization of Lufthansa Group’s airlines. In March of 2019, the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa Group approved the purchase of a total of 40 state-of-the-art aircraft for the group’s airlines. The 20 Boeing 787-9 and 20 additional Airbus A350-900 planes will primarily be replacing four-engine aircraft. The new planes will be delivered between late 2022 and 2027. SWISS will also introduce its Premium Economy Class in 2021, offering increased cabin comfort for passengers. Furthermore, the airline is giving all five of its Airbus A340 aircraft an overhaul. The refurbishment program of A340 by SWISS entails developing and installing new First, Business and Economy Class seats, providing a new inflight entertainment system that also offers internet connectivity, installing new galleys and comprehensively modernizing the entire interior (including adopting a new lighting concept) in all three seating cabins. The refurbishment delivers further passenger benefits, too, and raises the inflight comfort aboard SWISS’s Airbus A340s to that of its Boeing 777s. The group is excited to now have Lufthansa and SWISS stationed here together in Hong Kong. Lufthansa has been serving Hong Kong for more than 50 years and currently offers 14 weekly flights with daily evening departures from Hong Kong to Frankfurt and Munich. Together with SWISS daily evening flights to Zurich, the Lufthansa Group offers 21 non-stop flights a week from Hong Kong to Europe and beyond. Travelers can enjoy utmost flexibility and convenience via its global route network. (Data as of July 2019)
