The KSB Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers for centrifugal pumps and valves. The corporation was founded in 1871 in Frankenthal, Germany. In 2014, 15,500 employees in over 30 factories and more than 50 sales companies contributed to over EUR 2.3 billion in revenue. KSB's special attention to China is carried out by five companies. While the KSB Shanghai Pump Co. Ltd. joint venture serves the market whenever local content is requested, the Hong Kong based KSB Limited takes care of all imported products. Additionally KSB has set up a valve manufacture in North China city Dalian for butterfly valve and Shanghai for gate and globe valve. Activities are mainly directed towards building and sewage applications, energy, FGD oil facilities, water supply and process industries such as chemical or steel production. In 2008, KSB set up a new joint venture (SEC-KSB Nuclear Pump & Valve Co. Ltd.) with Shanghai Electric Corp. for the Nuclear Power Plant business. In 2011 the new valve production facility in Changzhou, KSB Valves (Changzhou) Co. Ltd. went into production. In 2013 and 2017, set up service center in Tianjin and Guangzhou. KSB has supplied over a thousand boiler circulation,feed water, cooling water pumps for conventional utility power plants in China; facilitating power plants with more than 200GW power capacity.
