The 200 full-time employees of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry provide a wide range of services on all business matters for its 110,000 member firms as well as for foreign companies setting up a business in Frankfurt am Main. For our member firms we issue certificates of origin and carnets. Founded in 1808 the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a public law co-operation. Today Frankfurt is not only the financial headquarters of Germany but also an important service centre. Frankfurt airport is the most important airport in continental Europe. Concerning trade fairs and exhibitions, Frankfurt is the venue for the largest consumer goods fairs in the world. Referring to the industrial structure of the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main-Area the chemical industry and related fields form its largest sector followed by automobile manufacturing and suppliers of automotive components. The electronics manufacturers are known around the world as specialists producing for such applied areas as measurement and regulatory systems. The machinery industry is also a major industrial sector in the Frankfurt area.
