Founded by Heinz Hankammer in 1966 as a one-man company, BRITA has continually grown over the years in the water filtration industry. Today more than 2,200 staff members across the world work for the company, headquartered in Taunusstein near Wiesbaden. BRITA founder Heinz Hankammer invented the first household water filter. Today BRITA is a multi-product company that develops, produces and sells a wide range of products and solutions for consumers and commercial customers. In addition to water filters for end users, the company offers filter solutions for use in large appliances and water dispensers in the catering and hotel industry. BRITA have continually advanced its product range in line with the growing and changing needs of its customers and in 2010 additionally entered the market segment of pressurized water dispensers. BRITA is represented in over 70 countries on all five continents by 30 national and international subsidiaries and production sites as well as participations, sales and industrial partners.
