Hamburg meets Hong Kong! We had the pleasure of welcoming around 50 guests and stakeholders from the business community at the HONGKONG STUDIOS creative hub for a morning filled with informative talks, new connections – and a world premiere!

In two lively panel discussions with experts from both cities, we explored the current business sentiment in Hong Kong, as well as innovation trends from deep-tech to Web3 and how start-ups in these areas can leverage the strong ecosystems of Hamburg and Hong Kong to successfully bridge the European and Asian markets.

Many thanks to our panellists Dr. Wing-hin Chung (InvestHK), Bjoern Lindner (Schwarz Asia Pacific Sourcing), Ken Chung (HKTDC Frankfurt), Heike Tipmonta (Hamburg Invest), Corinna Seidel (CS Marketing & Sales Solutions), Henning Grambow (Klangchat), and Gregory Rall (InvestHK) for sharing their first-hand insights and unique perspectives, and to our keen audience for engaging with us!

The event also offered the perfect setting to unveil a special surprise – our brand-new podcast, Hongkong Hotpod! The first German-language business podcast from and about Hong Kong will feature thought-provoking talks with business leaders and pioneers from various sectors on a regular basis. In our first episode, the one and only Yat Siu of Animoca Brands talks with Hannes Farlock about the evolution of Web3 and why every company should prepare for this new paradigm shift in the digital space. Listen to the full episode here.

Special thanks to Stefan Matz and Anne Thiesen from the German Hong Kong Business Association (Deutsche Hongkong Gesellschaft e.V.), the HKTDC Frankfurt, and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Berlin for helping to put this event together, to our partners at Hamburg Invest, Port of Hamburg Marketing, Handelskammer Hamburg, OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association, and Invest Hong Kong for their kind support, and to our prize sponsor EastPro Gallery.

Exploring the many parallels between Hamburg and Hong Kong has given us lots of inspiration and concrete follow-ups on business and collaboration opportunities between the two innovative hubs. We look forward to being back soon!
